Signs Your Child May Benefit from Play Therapy

Children often express their feelings and experiences differently than adults. Play therapy provides a safe, supportive space where children can explore emotions, work through challenges, and develop coping skills through play.

Common Signs Your Child May Benefit from Play Therapy

  • Frequent emotional outbursts or temper tantrums

  • Difficulty expressing feelings verbally

  • Regression in behaviors (bedwetting, clinginess)

  • Trouble in school or social settings

  • Experiencing trauma, loss, or big life changes

How Play Therapy Helps
Play therapy allows children to express themselves safely while developing problem-solving skills, emotional regulation, and resilience. Through guided activities with a certified play therapist, children gain confidence, build relationships, and learn coping strategies that carry into daily life.

About Our Play Therapy Program
At Restorative Wellness Counseling, we have two dedicated play therapy rooms and certified play therapists on our team. We offer both in-person sessions at our Plymouth clinic, as well as virtual options when appropriate. Our therapists work closely with families to create a nurturing, collaborative environment tailored to each child’s needs.
