Carey Winkler, MSW, DSW, LICSW
As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker my calling is to ensure that people feel seen, heard, and felt in the world. I use a collaborative approach with an emphasis on empowerment and tapping into the resilience and strengths that help us overcome barriers. My aim is to help build self-awareness, self-compassion, and insight in ways that help navigate life, manage stressors, and build healthy relationships.
With over 20 years of experience in working with adolescents, single parents, providing supervision, program management, and higher education, I have worked with folks across the lifespan navigating anxiety, depression, challenging relationships, self-doubt, grief, and getting rid of old patterns that were once useful but are no longer effective. While I have an eclectic approach, my practice is grounded in a simple empowerment framework that is built upon the idea that we are all inherently loveable, valuable, and important and I lean into this foundation in our work together. I am a firm believer in the benefits of therapy to everyone. The opportunity to work together to examine life and discover opportunities for positive change is a sacred endeavor that I feel honored to be a part of. I look forward to working together to co-create space for healing, self-discovery, non-judgment, and determining next steps that feel right for you. I bring a sense of open-mindedness, empathy, compassion, and a bit of humor. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, please reach out!
