Cory Chargo, MSW, LICSW

My name is Cory Chargo. I have spent many years straddling both the world of psychotherapy as a Clinical Social Worker, and Education, as a teacher and as a Principal. The common thread has always been to connect with people of varying ages and experiences through respect, appreciation for their own uniqueness, and joining them on their journey to self-improvement. A little humour does not hurt either!

As a Clinical Social Worker, my career began in a Psychiatric Hospital and over the years expanded to Day Treatment, PHP, and outpatient office therapy. For the past 15 years I have expanded my skills to my private practice in New Jersey. I just moved back to Minnesota after 35 years of being away.

With experience in these many settings, I have developed a well rounded skill set in doing individual, group, and family therapy. Over the years I have also worked with many couples as they examine how their relationships can be improved or altered somehow. I also work with people experiencing extreme depression, anxiety, and in some cases thought issues. In addition, I have worked with people with BPD and NPD as well as family persons related to individuals with these diagnoses. I led a grief group for seniors that lasted 5 years and teen support group that lasted 2 years. Finally, I am a credentialed Clinical Supervisor.

I am excited to be back in MN and working at Restorative Wellness Counseling. The team seems quite diverse and I look forward to working with them more closely. Mostly I’m excited to jump right in and continue to join you on your journeys of growth.
