Mady Walker, LGSW
Hi, I'm Madelyn (Mady), a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) in Minnesota. I provide in-person and virtual outpatient therapy for adolescents and adults (ages 13+), as well as parent coaching and skills-based support.
I have a special passion for working with women and late-diagnosed autistic teens and adults. Many of my clients have spent years feeling misunderstood, masking who they are, or wondering why life seems more difficult for them than it does for others. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, life transitions, or exploring your neurodivergent identity, my goal is to provide a space where you can show up authentically—without judgment or pressure to fit someone else's expectations.
My practice is rooted in a neurodiversity-affirming perspective. I believe that neurodivergence is a natural variation of the human experience, not something that needs to be "fixed." Together, we'll explore your unique strengths, better understand the ways your brain works, and develop practical strategies that support your goals while honoring who you are
I take a collaborative, individualized approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your experiences, values, and needs
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll explore what brings you to therapy, identify your goals, and begin creating a plan that feels meaningful and realistic for you. My hope is that you'll leave therapy with a deeper understanding of yourself, greater self-compassion, practical coping tools, and confidence in navigating life's challenges in a way that aligns with your values.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you've had experiences of feeling misunderstood or unsupported. My priority is to create a welcoming, validating environment where you feel seen, heard, and respected. If you're looking for a therapist who embraces neurodiversity and values authenticity, I'd be honored to support you on your journey.
