Steve Cartell, LICSW
Steve (he/him) earned a Master's degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University College of Social Work and has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). His professional background includes work in inpatient facilities, psychiatric hospitals, private practice, and outpatient community mental health centers. Steve has worked with the LGBTQIA2S+ community and provides therapy for adults experiencing symptoms such as depression, anxiety, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), loss and grief, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and trauma.
Steve applies a strengths-based approach, adapting to each client's circumstances. His practice incorporates Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as EMDR and IFS psychotherapy models in trauma processing. He focuses on establishing a safe and inclusive environment for his clients. Clients describe him as empathetic, non-judgmental, approachable, and attentive. Outside of work, Steve enjoys outdoor activities with his husband and their two dogs.
Steve is will be accepting new in person and tele-health clients through our in-network insurances starting in January 2026.
Steve is an independent contractor with RWC and operates as a separate entity. While providing services through our practice, Steve retains full professional responsibility for clients and clinical work.
